You can sort by the "Item State" column after enabling Compare to Production and then select the deleted items (shift and/or ctrl+click) and then use the "Restore Changes" button from the FLR wizard.
That will accomplish what you're looking for.
Please share the case number where you asked about this as I'd like to review what the Support Engineer discussed, as this is a pretty common scenario covered by Compare to Production.
