Backup Copy is the way to go here as it's "aware" of the other jobs, and will be able to handle when the primary job needs to run again, ensuring proper full secondary copies.
I do not advise manually copying the files outside of Veeam as there is high chance for an error during copy; Unstructured Data Backups are not traditional VBK / VIB files, but instead stored in a special data structure better suited to Unstructured Data Backup, so copying within Veeam is only way to ensure a proper copy.
I would continue with Support on why the Backup Copy job did not assist here, or plan a maintenance window and use Copy Backup, but regrettably this may require some interruption on the primary job at this time.
We are concerned about when to perform the backup copy, as the primary backup job will be disabled and we will not be able to perform daily incremental backups. This is because the NAS backup files to be copied to another repository are very large (approximately 140 TB or more) and the copy process takes several days.
