However, from both responses, it appears that :
- Backup to Tape for RMAN plugin backups is not currently supported.
- File to Tape is only a workaround and may introduce potential risks.
- The feature is under development, but no timeline has been provided.

This creates a significant design limitation for our environment, especially where tape-out is mandatory.

To proceed with proper architecture planning, could you please clarify the following :
1. What is the current roadmap status of this feature?
(e.g., planned, in development, internal testing, etc.)
2. Is this feature targeted for any upcoming major release (e.g., v13 or later)?
3. Is there any recommended official architecture for safely sending RMAN plugin backups to tape in the meantime?
4. Are there any known best practices to avoid file locking or contention issues when using File to Tape as a workaround?

At this stage, this is not just a feature request but a critical requirement for production environments.
We would appreciate any concrete guidance you can provide.
