Object Storage as Backup Target • Remove Deleted Items feature

I have an agent job backing up a volume on a physical server. A copy job then copies these backups to S3.

Is the "Remove Deleted Items data after" feature of the copy job meant to be effective in this case? I'm investingating an ever-growing bucket. The documentation for this feature is vm oriented so maybe it just doesn't apply when physical volumes and/or object storage are being used?

I was hoping the feature would remove files that have been deleted on the source volume from the S3 bucket.
