Yes, it is possible.
However, ensure you have recovery media created on the same machine; otherwise, the ReFS driver might not match and the filesystem may not be accessible. With recovery media created by newer versions of Windows, the file system of the backup volume may also be upgraded during restore.
For example, do not use recovery media created on Windows Server 2025 to restore backups from drive D on a Windows Server 2016 machine.

Please keep in mind that writing backups to a disk on the same machine is not considered best practice. Backups should be stored on remote locations.
