Seems I'm in the minority on this item, but I personally don't find "use NFR" a good answer to CE users such as myself. I don't use CE in exactly a "homelab" context where I can afford to lose Veeam. I use CE in a regular backup/restore context. To that extent, I like the CE licensing comes with very few strings attached to get the ISO download/installer and get rocking. AFAIK it's also perpetually licensed unlike an NFR which has an end date.
If it is indeed the case that VSA can be installed (and presumably operated/used) without a license then I guess that would be fine. Doesn't completely put me at ease though with respect to the long-term commitment to CE.
As always, sucks that those who abuse the generosity of others hurts those of us who are playing by the rules.
