As you mentioned you probably have to retry the item above the specific item failing.
To make the request technically beneficial, wouldn't you than interpret it like so:
Request to give the option to retry, not only per specific item (if its that hard due to versioning) but:
- Specific items failing for a user in onedrive, [option] retry the complete user's onedrive
- Specific SharePoint items failed within a library, [option] retry the library or site the specific item that failed is listed in.
- and so on.
TL;DR: Basically when we press the option retry, not the specific item but the item above (list/site/person/mailbox or mailfolder) will be retried instead.
That would be great aswell as it saves us the hassle for starting a complete job again or creating a new job selecting specific items that failed,
Let alone explain the errors over and over again with monthly reports.
