How does it increase the attack surface? Ideally, we'd like a way to send OS backups out of the repository, but not have additional open ports. Recovery could be done by local media.I'm afraid this will not be developed in future because VAL presence will increase the attack surface significantly, which goes against the very concept of hardened repository.
