VMware vSphere • [MERGED] FEATURE REQUEST - Allow storage snapshot backup via direct SAN access for Encrypted VMs

We have been required to have data at rest encrypted for many of our file servers. We have set up a new file server using the vTPM in VMware and an encryption policy to encrypt the VMDKs. This is required in order to preset a TPM to the Windows guest OS and allow the use of BitLocker to encrypt at the file level. We now know that Veeam doesn't support backing these types of VMs via direct SAN storage snapshots. It defaults to NBD, which is extremely slow and may not be usable moving forward. As encryption is becoming an industry requirement, I'd ask you to develop this feature.
