Well with approval from the chief, if anyone is interested let me know and I can share what I came up with, tested on nearly 200 clients and over 200 servers and worked well, saved me a lot of effort.
we've actually run into exactly the scenario you described - a hardware failure took out both the veeam server and the protected servers at the same time. Unfortunately, the encryption keystored in the password manager turned out to be incorrect, so the data is lost.
Lessons learnt, we need to validate the encryption keys across all existing backups. Your script would be very helpful for that purpose and could potentially save us a lot of manual effort, would be great if you can share it.
