We disabled a lot of backup jobs while building up new backup chains elsewhere. Weeks later I mass-deleted them. And then, afterwards, wondered what the retention was on them.
On-prem stuff it's not such a bother because if we don't want the backup, I can go and delete it by hand, but the off-site copies to immutable Wasabi S3 buckets I can't delete the data until the immutability period expires and even if that was set to "immutable for 7 days" if there was a Grandfather/Father/Son configured it could be a year away.
And if it was easy to find out by querying the backup, I would do that.
But if it isn't easy to find out, I will deal. It's not a regular thing I need.
