Two ways to get the tape catalog data back into Veeam:
1. Catalog the tapes as you already noted. Cataloging may take a bit so please be prepared for this.
2. If you have a configuration backup or database backup, you can do a restore of that, but I recommend restore to new database instead of overwriting the original. You will still want to catalog the necessary tapes (as indicated by the tape restore wizard), but this will at least help you know which tapes need to be cataloged for your immediate restore needs.
