Microsoft Hyper-V • Renewing an expired socket license?

So I have a 4-socket license that expired, making it unusable for my newly installed B&R 12. A couple of questions:

1. I'm now on hyper-v not vsphere, is this an issue?
2. I only have 3 sockets now, not 4, so what needs to change?
3. I'm under the impression that Veeam is not selling new socket licenses, is it still possible to renew existing ones, even if expired?
