the easiest way is if you configure everything during installation in the installer. One can re-configure with "advanced networking" also later, but my personal opinion is, that it's easier during installation.

I always enable all NICs during installation. There is one "trick": per default, only the first network card is enabled after the installation finished. In the networking options of the installer, there is a checkbox "enable this network card during boot" (I forgot the exact wording and I don't have the installer at hand right now). This checkbox needs to be manually enabled to have the bond fully working at boot (which you probably want).
