I would only add that the goal of backup encryption is to ensure that a malicious actor who manages to steal backup media (or just make a copy of backup files) is unable to restore data from them. Protecting backups from backup admins was never a goal.

I was considering sharing the scripts I created for this testing, which is kind of just a modified version of the KB mentioned above. I am not sure how Veeam would feel about this though, so I thought I should check with you and see how you feel about it before I provide any information publicly. How would you feel if I was to share some example scripts that can decrypt keys for agent/vbr for anyone looking for the info. Cheers
