Got unexpected $700 USD spike in Azure bill related to Microsoft Graph metered API services. It looks like Veeam’s use of the Graph API to backing up Microsoft Teams messages is generating high volume of API calls and cost.
I’m trying to understand how to estimate or monitor the actual number of API calls Veeam is making and how many Teams messages are being backed up. Right now, I can only access Teams usage reports for the last 180 days, but the teams usage count shown there doesn’t seem to match the billed usage. There seems to be a disconnect between what’s being backed up and what’s actually being billed by Microsoft.
