Veeam Backup & Replication • SureBackup Lab

I already have a surebackup lab/jobs configured to test backup, but now I want to setup another lab just to test server upgrades. I have this lab partially setup but have question about the Application Group. Im assuming I would add the servers I want to use in my test into an application group, but then do I add the linked job that each of my test vms is in. I have a web server, sql server, cert server, and domain controller/dns. All are in different backup jobs. From what I have observed so far is that only the VM that was listed in the application group actually gets turned on. Does this sound correct?
