We are just starting to use the SQL plugin so the DBAs can still control the SQL backups, but utilize our SOBR. The questions they have is relating to the differences in restoring DBs.
1. If a backup is created with SQL plugin can it only be recovered with the SQL plugin or can it also be recovered via the Enterprise Manager Restore portal?
2. Can backups created on one server with the SQL plugin be restored to another server with the plugin?
3. The SQL plugin seems to be heavily dependent on the user account that has the necessary rights to access the SQL DB. Would it be beneficial to have a common user account that can be configured across all of the database servers?
