Hi Salzi,

Unlike SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL protection, where we trigger log backups according to scheduled intervals, SAP HANA operates in Immediate log backup interval mode and runs log backups whenever it desires. Therefore, we can only apply settings once and monitor log backups by querying the SAP HANA backup catalog periodically and showing a warning if there is no new record for the last X minutes. Additionally, you can disable this monitoring and simply rely on the information in the backup catalog.

Answering your questions:

1. The setting in SAP HANA should remain unchanged, 2 hours means that it will perform log backups at least every 2 hours. However, if the log segment fills too quickly, it can run backups more frequently. There is a statement on this page about the log backup interval mode:
A log backup is created immediately after a log segment becomes full, or when the service-specific timeout for a log segment has been reached.
You may check the backup catalog on the SAP HANA side to ensure that it creates log backups more often than every 2 hours.

2. It states, "Cannot find any full backups" (see the line above in the action log in the screenshot). Let's wait for a full backup, after that, our monitoring job will start to work.

Thanks!
