no, these customers don't use it for disk restore. They just mount it with instant disk recovery and then copy the files inside the operating system. And removing the temporary disk should not be a problem in Windows (at least the customers did not mention anything to me). They bring the disk online / offline in Windows Disk management and use Windows Explorer inside the VM for file level recovery.
