Object Storage as Backup Target • Re: Anyone using Netapp ONTAP S3 in compatible release

Hi, maybe some of the customers can comment on their experiences. From our side it is important to note, that the sizing should consider I/O (S3 Operations) beside capacity in the planning. NetApp System Engineers usually can help with this. We are working very closely with the vendors to share details which they translate into system specific requirements. Usually performance depends as well on number of controller and their resources.

For AFF and FAS I would maybe go and give Veeam a FC or iSCSI based block volume that I protect with Immutable Snapshots that are scheduled independent of Veeam. Maybe compare performance of both options.
