Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 • Re: Veeam O365 backup to tape

Hi Fabian,

I already read other post but still confuse since i'm on designing the solution for our company. Please confirm is my though is right or not :
Currently i need to keep retention for M365 at least for 5 years but must consider the cost, so below is my solutions :
1. Buy Veeam M365 as SaaS on Azure with unlimited storage.
2. Buy Veeam M365 software on Azure and create separate azure blob storage.
3. Buy Veeam M365 on-prem version and store to tape.

option 1 we will have long retention since we will have unlimited storage but have higher cost.
option 2 we still calculate how big the storage needed to keep retention at least for 5 years, hopefully the price will be more cheaper than option 1
option 3, since we have unused tape cartridge the cost will be cheaper i still looking how we can use the tape to store the backup. But from your information this option is can't be chosen due the tape is not supported on veeam M365.

Please share your thought what the best way to have long retention but minimize the cost.
